Texas-based Bitcoin miner company CoinTerra announced the release of their 1,000th machine on Friday. According to the company, their hardware now powers around 6% of the entire Bitcoin network, and accounts for 1.7 petahash of overall network performance.
The company launched its highly anticipated terahash mining rig, the TerraMiner IV, last month. Although the rig performed slightly less well than advertised, they were instant hits in the Bitcoin mining community. The company, which expanded operations into a second facility to meet demand, is already running at maximum capacity.
The first batch of TerraMiner IV rigs is sold out, and the current batch is on back order until June. The 2TH/s. liquid-cooled, standalone mining rig will set you back $5,999. CoinTerra’s entry-level option, the 400 GH/s PCIe mining card, the GSX I, will only set you back $1,599.
